Become a CAADS Member

Since 1978, the California Association for Adult Day Services (CAADS) has been the nation's largest statewide association advocating for public policies that support the growth and quality of adult day services and community options. CAADS strives to encourage quality, efficiency, leadership, and innovation by providing timely information, technical assistance, education, and business technology to its members. CAADS is a non-profit 501 (c) 6 mutual benefit organization.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

Whether you are considering opening an Adult Day Services (ADS) center, are already licensed, or want to provide services/products helpful to the ADS industry, we invite you to apply for membership in CAADS in one of four (4) categories:

  • Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) -- Medical Model
  • Adult Day Program (ADP) -- Non-Medical Model
  • Adult Day Vendorized Program (ADVP) -- Non-Medical Model serving Regional Center clients only
  • Associate (ASOC) -- Not an Adult Day Services provider nor the prospective provider

 


Adult Day Health Care (ADHC)

An Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) center is licensed by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Considered a "health facility," an ADHC is subject to an annual licensure fee by the State of California and periodic inspection by the California Department of Public Health.

ADHCs serving Medi-Cal (Medicaid) beneficiaries must be certified as a Community Based Adult Services (CBAS) providers by the California Department of Aging (CDA).

Within the ADHC category, there are three membership options:
Pre-Licensed (non-voting membership)
Newly Licensed (voting membership)
Licensed Provider (voting membership).

Adult Day Program (ADP)

An Adult Day Program (ADP) center is licensed by the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division (DSS, CCLD). Considered an "Adult and Senior Care Program," an ADP is subject to an annual licensure fee by the State of California.

An ADP is not a "health facility;" therefore, it cannot be certified nor reimbursed to serve Medi-Cal (Medicaid) beneficiaries.

Within the ADP category, there are three membership options:
Pre-Licensed (non-voting membership)
Newly Licensed (voting membership)
Licensed Provider (voting membership).

Adult Day Vendorized Program (ADVP)

An Adult Day Vendorized Program (ADVP) can be licensed by the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division as an Adult and Senior Care Program, or be designated as a "program-without-walls" by one or more of California's 21 Regional Centers.

An ADVP is not a " health facility;" therefore, it cannot be certified nor reimbursed to serve Medi-Cal (Medicaid) beneficiaries.

Within the ADVP category, there are two membership options:
Pre-Vendorized (non-voting membership)
Vendorized Provider (voting membership).

Associate (ASOC)

An Associate is a business/organization that is not providing adult day services and does not intend to do so in the future.

There are five (5) membership classifications within the ASOC category, all of which are non-voting memberships:
Allied Community / Government Organization (health / social services organization, association, or network)
Consultant (consulting for adult day services start-ups or operations)
Health Care Provider Partner (such as a Knox-Keene Licensed Plan, Licensed Nursing Facility, etc.)
Main Office (additional membership for adult day services site/s already in membership)
Vendor (business offering products/services to providers of adult day services)
