Join the Adult Protective Services Technical Assistance Resource Center (APS TARC) for a webinar on Culturally Responsive APS Practice with Indigenous Populations.

Dr. Jacque Gray will present cultural information about working with Indigenous People and communities, followed by a panel discussion with Marcia Hall from the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes APS program and Sonja Begay with the Office of American Indian/Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian Programs at the Administration for Community Living. They will address the unique and important issues for culturally sensitive interviews and services with Indigenous populations, talk about the unique issues of working with Indigenous APS cases and describe personal experiences with boarding school survivors and grandparents raising grandchildren

Jacque Gray, PhD (Choctaw/Cherokee), is a Research Associate Professor Emerita and Program Director at the National Indigenous Elder Justice Initiative (NIEJI), University of North Dakota. Marcia Hall (Shoshone-Bannock Tribes) is with the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes APS Program, Fort Hall, Idaho. Sonya Begay (Dine’) is a Policy Analyst with the Office of American Indian, Alaskan Native and Native Hawaiian Programs, Administration for Community Living.
