CalAIM: Moving from Concept to Practice
Monday, March 7th | Noon - 1:30 pm PT
For decades, the state’s Medi-Cal program has delivered essential health services to millions of Californians. And, for decades, it has existed as a patchwork of different health and social programs that vary by county – creating siloes that have made it difficult for Californians to access the kind of person-centered care that has been demonstrated to improve health outcomes, build health equity, and reduce costs.
Recognizing the need for comprehensive reform, California embarked on an expansive, multi-year journey to integrate the state’s health and social services into one seamless system. After years of planning, piloting, and stakeholder conversations, California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal – also known as CalAIM – rolled out for a small segment of the state's population in January 2022. It will continue to expand to a broader range of Californians in the coming years – including over 2 million older and disabled adults currently enrolled in Medi-Cal.
Join the California Collaborative on March 7th from Noon to 1:30 pm PT for key initiative updates from the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and a panel discussion aimed at translating how this complex policy shift will impact older and disabled Californians.
