Making the Impossible -- Possible: NADSA's Standardization of Adult Day Services Outcomes and Data Collection -- The Path Forward
NADSA Members: $49

The Adult Day Services industry’s lack of standardized outcomes and data collection concurrent with a missing centralized data management platform has long been identified as major barriers in the capability to utilize ‘data’ to highlight and promote Adult Day Services’ ‘value and benefits’ to: legislators, payers, research entities, and more. NADSA’s Policy Advocacy and Research Committees completed the tasks of crystalizing the data categories and fields. RTZ/CadCare, a NADSA Strategic Partner, is partnering with NADSA to create the data collection/management platform as well as the interoperation capabilities. Collection of this data is more important than ever with tomorrow’s signing into law the American Recovery Plan. That legislation includes the following provisions which can have a measurable impact on Adult Day Services:
- 35% bump in the federal share of Medicaid (FMAP) funding;
- $1.444 billion for Older Americans Act (OAA) programs; and
- $276 mm from which a portion is targeted for Older Adult Protective Services (OAPS).
