Managing Managed Care Disputes

WHAT WE WILL COVER
This session will provide a practical overview of how to handle payment and other disputes within the Medi-Cal managed care system. Participants will learn about the most common types of disputes that arise with Managed Care Organizations ("MCOs"), key contractual language that can help—or hinder—in resolving these disputes, and the various mechanisms by which participants can enforce their rights against MCOs. By walking through concrete examples and exploring common pitfalls, participants will leave feeling confident about knowing what to do—and, more importantly, what not to do—should they find themselves in a dispute with an MCO.
