X-WR-CALDESC:California’s Medi-Cal program has undergone significant change
s in the past two years. This webinar\, Medi-Cal Updates\, and the Medi-Ca
l Unwinding\, will provide an overview of recent changes and their impact
on low-income older adults\, including the upcoming elimination of the ass
et test and updates under CalAIM including Enhanced Care Management and Co
mmunity Supports. \n\nThis webinar will also provide an update on Medi-C
al “unwinding.” During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency\, protections
were put in place to keep individuals enrolled in Medi-Cal and protect the
ir health coverage. Today\, however\, these protections have ended and Cal
ifornia is again reviewing individuals’ ongoing eligibility for Medi-Cal.
The restart of Medi-Cal redeterminations is called the “unwinding.” The un
winding poses many challenges for older adults\, especially those dually e
ligible for Medicare and Medi-Cal. Preliminary data on Medi-Cal redetermin
ations show that many older adults and people with disabilities may be los
