 ee was established within the California Health and Human Services Agency 
 in 1988 to provide ongoing advice and assistance on program needs and prio
 rities of persons impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia dis
 orders.\n\nThe Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Advisory Committe
 e members represent consumers\, family members\, providers and advocates. 
 Members of the Committee serve on a volunteer basis without compensation. 
 In 2011\, the California Health and Human Services Agency\, in partnership
  with external stakeholders\, released the California State Plan for Alzhe
 imer’s Disease\, which provides a set of goals\, recommendations and strat
 egies to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health
  and to improve care and support for all who are affected.\n\nJoin the mee

 e presentations/updates on:\n\nRemarks by California Health and Human Serv
 ices Agency Secretary\, Dr. Mark Ghaly\n\nEmerging efforts and opportuniti
 es related to training and certifying community health workers/promotores 
 to work with older adults\, including those living with dementia\n\nActivi
 ties of Dementia Care Aware\, which provides training and support for clin
 icians involved in dementia screening\n\nProgress and new initiatives in C
 alifornia’s Master Plan for Aging related to Alzheimer’s and other dementi
 as\n\nBudget and legislative proposals\n\nThe agenda and meeting materials
