aimed at breaking down the 'wonk'...\n\nFor decades\, the state’s Medi-Cal
program has delivered essential health services to millions of California
ns. And\, for decades\, it has existed as a patchwork of different health
and social programs that vary by county – creating siloes that have made i
t difficult for Californians to access the kind of person-centered care th
at has been demonstrated to improve health outcomes\, build health equity\
, and reduce costs.\n \nRecognizing the need for comprehensive reform\, Ca
lifornia embarked on an expansive\, multi-year journey to integrate the st
ate’s health and social services into one seamless system. After years of
 planning\, piloting\, and stakeholder conversations\, California Advancing
and Innovating Medi-Cal – also known as CalAIM – rolled out for a small s
egment of the state's population in January 2022. It will continue to expa
nd to a broader range of Californians in the coming years – including over
2 million older and disabled adults currently enrolled in Medi-Cal. \n \n
Join the California Collaborative on February 24th for key initiative upda
tes and a panel discussion aimed at translating how this complex policy sh
ift will impact older and disabled Californians.
