 y Chat. SCDD encourages those who are interested to join in the conversati
 on!\n \nWhat/Why: The “California Statewide Self-Advocacy Chats” are inten
 ded to give self-advocates throughout California the chance to talk about 
 topics that matter to them. Resources and information on chat topic(s) wil
 l be shared with participants in an email following the chats. \n \nWhen: 
 The third Wednesday of each month. \nThe October 2021 California Statewide
  Self-Advocacy Chat will be held on Wednesday\, October 20th @ 11:00 A.M. 
 \n \nThis month’s topic: Looking for Competitive Integrated Employment (CI
 E)\n \nSince October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (ND
 EAM)\, the October California Statewide Self-Advocacy Chat will provide ad
 vocates with an overview of disability employment history and legislation 
 in California and the USA and also the opportunity to share tools and talk
  about steps to finding Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE). In prepar
 ation for the October Chat\, advocates are encouraged to share any questio
 ns they might have about looking for work or preparing for an interview. S
 ome questions to think about for this month’s Chat: \n \n1.  What do you l
 ook for in a job? \n2.  Do you have any resources or tools you recommend t
 o help others find a job? \n3.  How do you prepare for an interview? \n \n
 At the end of the chat\, there will be a poll and discussion about topics 
 for future chats.\n \nIf you are interested in sharing your advocacy story
 \, need accommodations\, and/or have questions related to the California S
